Eucalyptus Rice Bran Espresso Bean Soap

Been drinking a lot of coffee lately, might as well put the used coffee ground to good use.  Coffee ground is natural deodorizer and natural cleaner.  Rice bran oil is very good for mature skin and help minimize the wrinkle.  I'm really happy with the way it turn out :)

Shea Butter Avocado Oatmeal Tea Tree Milk Soap

I ground up some oatmeal into fine powder, sifted and added some into the soap this time.  I've been hearing good thing about oatmeal and glad I gave it a try, I also tried the new tea tree essential oil this time since I was bothered by acne lately, I've been using it to wash my face and I can tell it really helped with the inflammation on my acne!  It's much better than dabbing tea tree oil directly onto my face, burned like hell LOL.

Making soap in winter really takes extra time to prepare because I had to melt the oil first while keeping it under 107 F to keep all the nutrient, I can't wait for summer to come so I have two less oil to melt :) 

Coconut oil melting point: 76 F 

Palm oil melting point: 95 F

Shea Butter melting point: 100 F

I was also able to put the maneki neko (lucky cat) stamp on successfully after numerous time trying and failing, although big stamp has good design, it's much harder to stamp on perfectly because the soap usually have a soft spot in the center of the soap.  I think maneki neko finally brought me luck this time stamping :)

I wasn't happy with the swirling result I got for past couple time where my friend taught me to add in color at the right timing in different spot while it's still in the mixing bowl, draw a line between color spots, then pour the soap solution into the mold and let the flow create the natural line.  I tried it again this time and I think I finally got it!!!! I am so excited!!!!  This is also my first time trying out making soap without the olive oil, but use a lot of macadamia oil and sweet almond oil instead for extra moisturizing effect.

In Time for Halloween

It's a pleasant surprise that by adding dark green tea(green color) with red palm oil and the color came out in time just for Halloween, I added some bees pollen for extra nutrient and touch to it.  Happy Halloween everyone :)

Red Wine Soap

Red wine has benefit of increasing blood circulation, so I decided to try that on the soap.  It's a bit hectic during the preparation, because I need to make sure no trace of alcohol left before making the soap by simmering the red wine at the right temperature, then I left it at the fridge for couple more day to ensure no trace of alcohol left.  It gave very interesting scent after I'm done and I can see a bit of red color in it from the wine.
